Administrators at a Fayette County school are weighing their options after they discovered their building's heating system isn't working. Ansted Middle School is heated through a 25-year-old coal-powered boiler that will likely have issues this winter.
Missing Girl
The Fayette County Sheriff's Office is searching for a juvenile missing from the Hico area. Sheriff Steve Kessler released the following information concerning this missing child: At approximately 4:00 am on Saturday, November 8, 2014 Lilly Neff, age 16, from Ansted, WV, was at the Mountaineer Cabin Rentals in Hico when she left this rental cabin, reportedly to walk to a relative's home in the Danese area.
Fayette Co. Deputies investigate robbery at Gino's
The Fayette County Sheriff's Office is on the lookout for a suspect who robbed a well known restaurant this morning. According to a news release issued by Sheriff Steve Kessler, the incident happened at around 4:30 this morning at the Gino's Restaurant on Route 60 in Ansted.
Woman arrested in Gino's robbery case
The Fayette County Sheriff's Office began their investigation on Monday, December 22nd, when there was a report of a break in and theft at the restaurant. 27-year-old Sheena Darlene Fox of Ansted was arrested without incident and was charged with the felony offenses of entering without breaking and attempt to commit a felony.

Police Investigate ATV Accident in Fayette Co.
The Fayette County Sheriff's Department responded to a call around ten p.m. of an ATV wreck on Route 16 near Cotton Hill. Upon arriving on scene, police found the ATV had run off the roadway and rolled over several times.

Two charged in connection with operating a meth lab
Two Fayette County residents have been arrested in connection with the alleged manufacture of methamphetamine and the theft of copper utility wire. Deputies were able to determine that this copper wire had been cut from a broken utility pole at the intersection of Hawver Road and Gwinn Road. Deanna Beck was arrested and charged with Driving Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance, Operation of a Clandestine Methamphetamine Laboratory, Conspiracy to Commit a Felony and Grand Larceny. Police Investigate armed robbery in Fayette County
Of an armed robbery at the Sunoco gas station in Lavista. The suspect left with an undisclosed amount of money. State police are interviewing witnesses, and watching surveillance video. Details are limited on the crime, but investigating officers say the suspect headed West toward Ansted. Gatewood Fire Inuries Two
Emergency Dispatchers confirm multiple injuries are being reported at an house fire on Gatewood Road, near Gatewood Elementary School in Fayetteville. Newswatch can confirm at least two people have been transported to the hospital. The owner of the home was a elderly lady living with her adult son, and occupants were transported to the hospital for injuries sustained during fire. The Fayette County Sheriffs department said the Fire Marshall's office will be conducting an arson investigation as foul play may be suspected.
North Carolina pair charged with car break-ins
- Two North Carolina residents are in jail after their arrest in the Ansted area early this morning. Child Protective Services was notified and they responded to the scene to take custody of the minor child. Daniel Beasley, age 30, of Pinnacle, NC was arrested and charged with 3 counts of Computer Fraud, 2 counts of Forgery and 3 counts of Breaking-and-Entering of an automobile. Terastar Banner, age 30, of Mount Airy, NC was arrested and charged as being an Accessory Before the Fact to 3 counts of Computer Fraud.
Ansted Elementary Students Learn Fire Safety
The young students participated in drills including how to stop, drop and roll. "That's what I want these kids to do," says Ansted Fire Department Public Information Officer Meredith Gray. "I don't care if your neighbor looks at you like you're crazy. Firefighters will wrap up Fire Prevention Week Friday with Ansted Elementary Students. The Ansted Fire Department will be conducting a rope rescue training Saturday at Hawks Next Park to start preparing for Bridge Day.
Midland Trail Homecoming
As the school held its inaugural Homecoming bonfire. The event followed another new addition to the school's Homecoming activities, a parade through Ansted. This is the first Homecoming parade Midland Trail has had in over 20 years. The parade featured guest including: Grand Marshall David Miller and Tim Springer representing WOAY, the schools JROTC, Pep Band, and the Homecoming Courts, The Homecoming King and Queen will be crowned tonight at halftime of the long time annual traditional football game between Fayetteville and Midland Trail.

State Parks are all aglow with Lights Along the Midland Trail at...
"Families and friends who drive to and through Christmas and holiday lightings at our state parks are sure to have plenty of great stops. "It's an amazing display of different lights set throughout the lodge area," said John Bracken, park superintendent. "The two-story company houses each have a Christmas tree and picket fences in front of each house have lights draped along them," said Scott Fortney, park superintendent. The train runs from mid-May through October. Donations are accepted at Chief Logan to maintain Christmas in the Park event.
